According to the articles I've read about Einstein's theory of relativity speed isn't only relative to the subject going at said speed, but it also applies to the observer. Based on my knowledge I already knew that Einstein's theory of relativity states that speed is relative to both an observer and the subject. I also know/knew that Einstein's theory of relativity is broken up into two parts one part is special relativity, the other part is general relativity. Special relativity is the speed that an observer sees of the subject somewhat a reference system of measurement for the observer to the subject, or so that's what I think from what I've learned from my past research. General relativity is a general summarization of the special relativity that includes gravity.
Einstein's theory of relativity also includes the equation E=mc². Based on past research that I've done I know that "E" is for energy, "m" is for mass, "c²" is for the speed of light. So basically the equation means energy equals mass times the speed of light squared. Therefore meaning the faster an object moves the more its mass increases. But I've learned from the articles that gravity plays role as what holds planets in orbit around they're stars. Space and time connect in a way that forms what I see somewhat as a net. If you put an object in that net, then the object brings that specific part of the net down. In this case that object is the sun. Since the sun has more mass than all other planets then all other planets would revolve around it. That's why without the sun or any star for that matter all planets would just be going in a straight line, this is where mass plays role in Einstein's theory of relativity.
Though I wasn't able to do much but sort of brush over what I already knew, there really wasn't any opinions that I can see of. One of the author's get's his/her story across by pictures showing more of an idea of the things that Einstein's theory of relativity talks about (not really an article). Another article by Aida Edemariam was a summary of basic principles of Einstein's theory of relativity which also includes examples. The last source that I used was just a regular article that literally gives straight facts about the theory of relativity, which also includes a breakdown of special and general relativity. I think the author's of all stories want me to realize that Einstein's theory of relativity is about relative speed of an observer and the subject.
